Last year I stopped posting on this blog because I was frustrated at the new format that had been instituted. The ability to design creative and colorful posts was lacking, partly due to my inexperience but mainly because of the new dashboard. I’m sure that WordPress would eventually like all of their bloggers to upgrade from the free blogs to the blog platform. Perhaps this is the reason why they made the new dashboard so user-unfriendly, or maybe it’s just me, lol !! Whatever the reason, I’ve moved to Blogger and have a very cool – and definitely more user friendly – new Mommasez… blog. If you want to win some prizes, read new and entertaining posts, and follow me at my new home, enter the rafflecopter contest at Mommasez… ON BLOGGER!

Super Freak

Thirteen-year-old Caroline is a freak. Her parents have uprooted her to a town full of Supernaturals. You’d think she’d be thrilled. But, with someone without a magical bone in her body, this daughter of tree sprites feels like even more of an outcast than she has ever before.

To make matters worse, her new home is cursed. But when Caroline takes to investigating the mysterious and strange happenings of Harridan House, her BFF goes missing. Seems someone doesn’t want Caroline sticking her non-magical nose where it most certainly does not belong. Determined to prove herself, Caroline uncovers a plot to destroy her new hometown.

Undeterred, Caroline can’t give up. But what’s a human without magical powers to do? Caroline better figure it out fast, before she loses everything she has ever loved and the whispers she’s heard all her life prove true: Caroline is a useless superfreak.

I am a Guest Blogger on Roof Beam Reader’s blog today in honor of Austen in August. Check it out here! I’m also doing a giveaway RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW for a What Would Jane Do book of quotations.

All you need to do is read my guest post and comment below with your thoughts on the subject. Please include your email address with your comment. Due to shipping rates, this is a US only contest. I still love my international followers!! I will choose a winner at random on August 25th.

My son, Tyler, is 21 and a prolific writer. He hasn’t been published yet but is constantly writing. As a matter of fact, he can’t walk from one room to the next without carrying a notebook and mechanical pencil!! He has asked me to post this short questionnaire on my blog to see what readers are interested in reading currently. He’s written sci-fi, military fiction, romance, erotic, paranormal, etc. And he’s actually an excellent writer. I’ll publish some of his writing in the next blog post for those interested in checking out his work. Thanks in advance for filling this form out and keep an eye out on AUGUST 19TH for my AUSTEN IN AUGUST Giveaway!!!

Master Post: #AustenInAugustRBR 2015

AustenInAugustRBR-ButtonWelcome to the Master Post for our 4th Annual Austen In August event! This is a one-month event focused on all things Jane Austen, including her primary texts, any re-imaginings of her works, biographies, critical texts, etc.

In late May, I announced sign-ups for the event, and was, as always, excited and encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive response from all different types of readers & bloggers! I know many of you, like me, have been anxious to get started; so thank you all for your interest, for signing-up, and for spreading the word!

51qbyy-TmrL._SX300_BO1,204,203,200_I have a lot of things planned for this month-including giveaways, guest posts, and, of course, my own reading and reviewing of Jane Austen works. I plan to read the Penguin Clothbound Classics edition of Austen’s Love and Freindship and Other Youthful Writings. If I finish this, I’ll have read all of Austen’s published works, including juvenilia and unfinished pieces. Woo!

But first, let’s talk logistics.

At the bottom of this post is a “Mister Linky” widget. Whenever you review a book or write a post related to the event, please link it on this master post. Please include the title or subject of whatever your post is AND your blog name in the “Name” section of the link. It should look something like:

Review of Emma (Roof Beam Reader).”

This will ensure that all the links are in a similar format, and that others will know what your post is about before they click on it. I will make sure that the button on the left-side of my blog will take you to this master post. Please make sure to only link-up your posts on this main list!

Whenever you link a post, you will become eligible to win the giveaways that will be happening (frequently!) here and on other participating blogs throughout the month. The only way to be entered for these prizes is to make sure your posts are linked-uphere (this includes reviews of the books you’ve read, commentary on Austen topics, giveaways, or any other posts directly related to this event).

Specific details for each of these giveaways may be different, so be sure to read the rules on each giveaway post carefully and enter if you are interested! For any of the giveaways, here or at other participants’ blogs, you will need to be pre-registered (by August 5th) for this event in order to win.

Be sure to use #AustenInAugustRBR to chat about this event on Twitter & Facebook.

lineI mentioned in a previous post that I am a member of a great website called Crowdtap. For performing activities like answering questions, tweeting, and posting on my blog and facebook, I get a lot of free stuff. This month, I received a box STUFFED with Campbell’s products, along with the additional bonus of a tote bag, hand drink mixer, cutting board, and spatula. Very cool! So this month, you will see some posts where I illustrate how I used these new products by Campbell’s.

A Lovable Story!

By Debby Lee

I loved this heartwarming Christmas story! .Josey was a workaholic who spent all her spare time at the office in order to cope with the tragic loss of her parents and being jilted by her fiance. I really felt for her. Clint was a handsome veterinarian Josey met at an animal rescue event who helped her buy a large slobbering dog named Cookie. Clint handled the animals with professionalism, sincerity, and great care. The two Morning Dove’s in the story, Harry and Beatrice, were desperate to see Josey and Clint get together in time for Christmas. If you enjoy sweet plots, whimsical animal themes, and stories that make you go “aaawww” this one’s for you.

thanksgiving-mums-graphicsfairy003bI am sure some of you have noticed that I’ve been conspicuously absent from my blog for the last month or so. The reason for this is that I have taken on a temporary second job that puts my work hours at 70+ a week right now. I have the bad habit of collecting stray kids, usually teens, and the grocery bill alone could bankrupt a single mom like myself, lol. So, by the time I’m done working both jobs, I am tired but there is still housework to be done. Unfortunately, my blog has had to take a backseat because of the two jobs and the four young people that have moved in recently. However, I’m going to try to get back into the swing of things and figure out how to juggle the two jobs and Mommasez…because I miss my readers, fellow bloggers, and authors!

So, Happy Thanksgiving and look for more posts coming soon!!!
