Last year I stopped posting on this WordPress.com blog because I was frustrated at the new format that had been instituted. The ability to design creative and colorful posts was lacking, partly due to my inexperience but mainly because of the new dashboard. I’m sure that WordPress would eventually like all of their bloggers to upgrade from the free WordPress.com blogs to the WordPress.org blog platform. Perhaps this is the reason why they made the new dashboard so user-unfriendly, or maybe it’s just me, lol !! Whatever the reason, I’ve moved to Blogger and have a very cool – and definitely more user friendly – new Mommasez… blog. If you want to win some prizes, read new and entertaining posts, and follow me at my new home, enter the rafflecopter contest at Mommasez… ON BLOGGER!
M9B Friday Reveal: Cover Reveal – Super Freak by Vanessa Barger with Giveaway #M9BFridayReveals
Welcome to this week’s M9B Friday Reveal!
This week, we are revealing the cover for
Super Freak by Vanessa Barger
an MG title presented by Tantrum Books!
Be sure to enter the giveaway found at the end of the post!
Thirteen-year-old Caroline is a freak. Her parents have uprooted her to a town full of Supernaturals. You’d think she’d be thrilled. But, with someone without a magical bone in her body, this daughter of tree sprites feels like even more of an outcast than she has ever before.
To make matters worse, her new home is cursed. But when Caroline takes to investigating the mysterious and strange happenings of Harridan House, her BFF goes missing. Seems someone doesn’t want Caroline sticking her non-magical nose where it most certainly does not belong. Determined to prove herself, Caroline uncovers a plot to destroy her new hometown.
Undeterred, Caroline can’t give up. But what’s a human without magical powers to do? Caroline better figure it out fast, before she loses everything she has ever loved and the whispers she’s heard all her life prove true: Caroline is a useless superfreak.

Master Post: #AustenInAugustRBR 2015
Welcome to the Master Post for our 4th Annual Austen In August event! This is a one-month event focused on all things Jane Austen, including her primary texts, any re-imaginings of her works, biographies, critical texts, etc.
In late May, I announced sign-ups for the event, and was, as always, excited and encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive response from all different types of readers & bloggers! I know many of you, like me, have been anxious to get started; so thank you all for your interest, for signing-up, and for spreading the word!
I have a lot of things planned for this month-including giveaways, guest posts, and, of course, my own reading and reviewing of Jane Austen works. I plan to read the Penguin Clothbound Classics edition of Austen’s Love and Freindship and Other Youthful Writings. If I finish this, I’ll have read all of Austen’s published works, including juvenilia and unfinished pieces. Woo!
But first, let’s talk logistics.
At the bottom of this post is a “Mister Linky” widget. Whenever you review a book or write a post related to the event, please link it on this master post. Please include the title or subject of whatever your post is AND your blog name in the “Name” section of the link. It should look something like:
“Review of Emma (Roof Beam Reader).”
This will ensure that all the links are in a similar format, and that others will know what your post is about before they click on it. I will make sure that the button on the left-side of my blog will take you to this master post. Please make sure to only link-up your posts on this main list!
Whenever you link a post, you will become eligible to win the giveaways that will be happening (frequently!) here and on other participating blogs throughout the month. The only way to be entered for these prizes is to make sure your posts are linked-uphere (this includes reviews of the books you’ve read, commentary on Austen topics, giveaways, or any other posts directly related to this event).
Specific details for each of these giveaways may be different, so be sure to read the rules on each giveaway post carefully and enter if you are interested! For any of the giveaways, here or at other participants’ blogs, you will need to be pre-registered (by August 5th) for this event in order to win.
Be sure to use #AustenInAugustRBR to chat about this event on Twitter & Facebook.

Percy Jackson is a good kid, but he can’t seem to focus on his schoolwork or control his temper. And lately, being away at boarding school is only getting worse–Percy could have sworn his pre-algebra teacher turned into a monster and tried to kill him. When Percy’s mom finds out, she knows it’s time that he knew the truth about where he came from, and that he go to the one place he’ll be safe. She sends Percy to Camp Half Blood, a summer camp for demigods (on Long Island), where he learns that the father he never knew is Poseidon, God of the Sea. Soon a mystery unfolds and together with his friends–one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena–Percy sets out on a quest across the United States to reach the gates of the Underworld (located in a recording studio in Hollywood) and prevent a catastrophic war between the gods.
